Official Opening of The Avenue | An Independent Special School

December 8, 2025

Today we officially opened The Avenue, marking an exciting new chapter for our children, families and community. We were thrilled to welcome Jonathan Wilkes and our CEO Lisa Sarikaya, who did the honours of cutting the ribbon. Members of the St. Bart’s Central Team, Avenue staff, children and families joined us to celebrate and enjoyed some Avenue/St. Bart’s inspired cupcakes!
The Avenue is an independent specialist school, based in Stoke-on-Trent, offering expert support for children aged 4-11 with complex autism and co-occurring conditions. Our mission is to open the door to a journey of self-discovery, so every child can blossom, grow, and find their place in the world.
A big thank you to Ben Mills for all of his help and support on this adventure.
Today’s opening is just the beginning. We cannot wait to see our children continue to shine.
