Sustainability at the Heart of Our Schools
At St. Bart’s, sustainability isn’t just something we teach – it’s something we live. Our students, staff, and families work together to make a real impact, ensuring that we care for our planet today and for future generations.
From forest school activities and outdoor learning to growing our own food and reducing waste, we actively involve our school communities in meaningful environmental action.
Making a Difference, One Initiative at a Time
Here are just a few of the ways we champion sustainability:
- Hands-on Learning – Students experience the joy of nature through outdoor education, gardening, and growing their own food.
- Reducing Waste – Through litter-picking campaigns, uniform swaps, clothing banks, and donations to the Children’s Air Ambulance, we are committed to reusing and recycling.
- Food for All – We partner with local supermarkets to redistribute surplus food, reducing waste while supporting families in our communities.
- Eco Leadership – Our Pupil Parliament leads the way with energy-saving, water efficiency, and healthy eating campaigns, encouraging their peers to take action.
- The St. Bart’s Super Gang – Students have created their own sustainability superheroes, from Super Billy the recycling hero to Aqua Maria the water saver, making eco-awareness fun and accessible for all.
