MTC Cup 2026 🏆 – St. Saviour’s Retain Their Crown

February 27, 2026

The 2026 MTC Cup (Multiplication Tables Check) has come to an exciting close, and what a fantastic competition it has been across our SBMAT schools. Over the course of the tournament, pupils demonstrated focus and determination as they worked to strengthen their multiplication fluency.

In the MTC Cup, rankings are determined by average rank per pupil, meaning the lower the score, the stronger the overall performance. This ensures that every child’s effort contributes to their school’s success.

🥇 1st Place – St Saviour’s C of E Academy

Average Rank per Pupil: 134.47

🌟 Special Recognition

A special mention must go to St Nathaniel’s Academy, who recorded the highest total number of correct answers overall with an extraordinary 79,946 questions answered. This reflects phenomenal commitment and perseverance from their pupils.

📊 A Trust-Wide Achievement

Across the Trust, pupils answered an astonishing 537,948 correct questions during this year’s competition. That figure alone highlights the scale of engagement and the collective commitment to improving multiplication fluency.

While we celebrate the winning schools, the real success of the MTC Cup lies in the impact on our pupils. Confidence has grown, recall speed has improved, and children across our academies are now better prepared for their Multiplication Tables Check and for future mathematical learning.

We are incredibly proud of every pupil who took part. Their multiplication skills and confidence have soared; and that is the greatest achievement of all.
