Members

The Members of St. Bart’s Multi-Academy Trust have a different status from the Trustees. The Members have a general duty to exercise their powers to further the Trust’s charitable object which is “to advance for the public benefit, education in the United Kingdom”.

Members’ powers are set out in the Trust’s Articles of Association and in company law. They determine the Trust’s constitution and governance structure, appointing, and removing Trustees and hold the Trust Board to account in relation to the governance and operation of the Trust.

The Members operate independently of the Trustees and have a financial liability to the Trust in the event that it is wound up. The members must also ensure that the religious character of the church academies within the Trust is preserved and developed.

Meet our Members

Johnny Anderson

Johnny is local to Staffordshire having attended university in Stoke on Trent. He has worked in senior education finance roles for two Local Authorities. Johnny set up and ran as a director a private nursery school which was handed over as a successful going concern to the host school.  In addition, he spent 3 years as the Finance Director of the then largest private provider of school support services in the UK prior to setting up a company that has for the last 22 years provided consultancy support to schools across the UK. National, local and personal development through education is his passion professionally. Johnny is a member and serving chair of the West Midlands Chairs Learning Set. Johnny is a long serving governor and has held governance roles in 3 Local Authorities. He was a founding Director of a Catholic Multi Academy Company. As well as being a Member and Trustee of St Bart’s, he currently serves as a governor of a primary academy outside the Trust. Johnny is a National Governance Association Award Winner. He is keen to support great community activities and has been involved with many.

Ann-Marie Cheadle

Anne-Marie has spent almost 30 years in education, as a teacher, headteacher and executive headteacher, and a Section 48 inspector for the Catholic Diocese. She left education in 2019 and worked for 5 years for the UK trade team at Merlin Entertainments, where she looked after clients such as Trip Advisor and Virgin Experience Days.  She was a member of the Merlin Internal Intelligence Group,  that focused on accessibility and inclusion for both staff and guests.  One of her other roles within Merlin was as the Trade Ambassador for Merlin’s Magic Wand, the charity arm which supports children who suffer from a life limiting illness.
Anne-Marie currently works for the charity, Family Action, as part of the DFE funded National Schools Breakfast Programme. where she supports schools in running their breakfast club provision The programme aims to ensure that all hungry children are fed, with no barrier or stigma.
She is also a volunteer with the Dougie Mac Hospice in Stoke on Trent, supporting their Wellbeing Outreach Programme.
Despite being no longer in education, Anne-Marie remains passionate about improving outcomes for children.

Andrea Bean

Andrea leads on Research and Development at the Teacher Development Trust. (TDT).  Before joining TDT, Andrea spent 16 years working in primary education – 12 of these were spent as a senior leader, including academy principal. She has a solid understanding of educational leadership and combines this knowledge with up to date research to drive school improvement. At present she is completing her Masters in Educational Leadership. Over the course of her career, Andrea has led on a variety of areas including curriculum development, pupil premium, wellbeing and assessment. Having supported educators at all stages of their career, Andrea understands the importance of high-quality professional development and the integral part it plays in improving the education provision for all children.  Andrea is passionate about mental health and wellbeing, particularly for education staff and young people; she currently instructs First Aid for Mental Health for both adults and children.
