Admissions
Our Approach to Admissions
As a Multi Academy Trust, St Bart’s is the overarching Admissions Authority for its academies and is responsible for setting the admission arrangements for each academy. As a family of academies, St Bart’s welcomes children and young people from all backgrounds, faiths and those of no faith. Our academies embrace all cultures, races and family backgrounds. Our academies are committed to serving the diversity of their local communities.
Each academy has an admission policy for each academic year and these policies are written to comply with the School Admissions Code 2021 and the School Admissions Appeals Code 2022. The criteria we use to decide the allocation of school places are fair, clear and objective. We aim to work collaboratively with local authorities and other academy trusts on place planning to ensure that children and young people have access to a good education close to where they live.
Academy Admission Policies
Our scheme of delegation assigns responsibility for each academy’s admissions policy to the Local Governing Committee (LGC) of each academy. All LGCs must ensure the Admissions Policy of their academy abides by the Admissions Code and other relevant legislation.
