Need-to-know: Upcoming school census details revealed

Find out the census dates for 2018 to 2019, and the changes to what data you need to collect.
The school census guidance for 2018/19 has been published.
Census dates for 2018/19 school year
The school census will take place on these dates:
- Autumn: 4th October 2018
- Spring: 17th January 2019
- Summer: 16th May 2019
Changes to data you need to collect
You must no longer collect the following information on pupils for the purpose of the census:
- Proficiency in English
Country of birth
Additionally, you should be aware that:
- Data on the number of service children must be collected each term (previously this was just in the spring census)
- Data on SEN provision can no longer be recorded under the ‘S’ code, which stands for statement of SEN (this is because statements should have now been replaced by education, health and care (EHC) plans)
- Data on ‘substantial work placements’ must now be recorded (this is as part of the introduction of T levels)
For the last eight years, the team at Saint Nathaniel’s Academy has been working with pupils to develop and transform the school’s garden into a valuable, child-safe asset that is much-loved by its many pupils.
Forty children from across the Trust attended Rugby Development Training hosted by Longton Rugby Club.
The first of March saw two new academies join the St. Bart’s family – Whitchurch CE Infant and Nursery Academy and Whitchurch CE Junior Academy.
